Jerome Martinent

Originally from France and now living in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Jerome Martinent decided to film rides as a means of being able to ride “back home” whenever.

He plans to capture rides in Malaysia in the near future to showcase the beautiful country.

What’s your favourite ride to do in the real world?

It’s a ride back home from when I was a teenager, going up and down the Luberon hill in Provence and circling back on a 70 to 100km ride. It was even better during the cherry season when we cheekily stopped by the side of fields and eat cherries to refuel. πŸ™‚

Favourite FulGaz ride & why?

I’m a big fan of the rides from Rob Bennett and, in particular, the ones in France. I like the Chateaux de la Dordogne one, which is close to 50km with a lot of variety in the ride profile.

Favourite cycling memory?

Definitely the cherries for refuelling πŸ™‚

Dream bike or favourite bike?

I recently bought a Cannondale Optimo series, and it’s pretty awesome πŸ™‚

Any other random facts you’d like to add?

I started off as a long-distance runner (ultra marathons) before riding. I didn’t ride for 25 years and started back after a bet with work colleagues where we challenged ourselves to ride 2021 km in 2021. I bought a cheap bike at first and got hooked. Since then, I’ve upgraded my bike to a decent one πŸ™‚
