THE CORINTH CANAL
We start this ride at Kalamaki and head to Isthmia where the Corinth canal enters the Saronic gulf via a submersible bridge - you will see how wet the wooden slats are as I ride over just after it has risen (be careful not to get skinny wheels stuck in here!). We then climb to finish the ride at the old bridge that crosses over the canal.

It’s a cool 30C on a mid-September’s afternoon and you are on the Saronic Gulf, think of Greek olives, feta cheese and fresh fish, smell the pines…… you are almost here! This is a short 3 mile warm-up or cool down ride so join me along the shores of Agioi Theodori, 60km west of Athens.

The vast Peloponnese peninsula is situated in southern Greece with a large mountainous interior and is famous for its olive production. Starting our ride in the small town of Lygouria we will head through the olive groves of this region to the village of Dimaina.

Meteora is an incredible set of Eastern Orthodox monasteries and a UNESCO World Heritage protected site inhabited since the 11th century where six (of an original twenty-four) monasteries are built on immense natural pillars. We start in the town of Kalabaka at the foot of these amazing geological structures and head up through the beautiful village of Kastraki passing all six monasteries on our way to the top where we will loop back passing the entrance gate of the Holy Monastery of Great Meteoran, the largest of the Meteora monasteries and finish our ride outside the Meteora E-bike shop in Kalabaka.
