Kings Cup Gravel Race on FulGaz!

We’re is excited to bring the British Gravel Championship Race to life on FulGaz, thanks to the support of Red:On Group.

This route is the biggest challenge of the King’s Cup Gravel Festival weekend with elite and master-level riders duelling it out for the coveted crown of National Champion.

The route is an off-road race held on hard-packed and loose gravel, grass, dirt, and sand through Suffolk’s beautiful King’s Forest. The tracks are wide enough for bunch racing and overtaking, making for a dynamic day’s competition.

The route on race day a 15.3km (9.5) loop with only 88m (288ft) of climbing so it’s fast. To help you prepare on FulGaz, you can set the number of laps to match the distance you’ll be racing.

RACE DISTANCES

  • Men & Women 76.5km (5-laps)
  • Masters & Juniors 61.2km (4-laps)

NATHAN HAAS’ ROUTE OVERVIEW

Pro-gravel racer Nathan Haas gave us his top-line thoughts on this British classic after riding it on FulGaz.

“This is some serious gravel right here, it’s got everything, grass sections, sand pits, double track, technical single track and some long flat straights road hammer the power down.

Being so green I’d say there’s a high chance of bad weather, but lucky for FulGaz you can recon the whole event staying warm and dry so you’re ready to rip in on race day!”

KING'S CUP - BRITISH GRAVEL CHAMPIONSHIP

The British Gravel Championship Race is the biggest challenge of the King’s Cup Gravel Festival weekend. Filmed during the 2022 event, this is two laps of the 15km circuit. The King’s Cup’s signature gravel, common throughout the circuit will remind you of Strade Bianche, the beautiful Italian classic race held in the Tuscan hills each spring, as it’ll leave your tyres white and bike covered in thick dust. You won’t see any Cypress trees here though, there’s no significant climbing. Expect each of the two laps to cover a wide array of riding surfaces from white to golden brown and back to white gravel tracks. There’s some grassy track and even a tiny bit of sand. The King’s Cup race route has a bit of everything. Varying surfaces, it’s narrow in places, wide in others, technical in parts, fast elsewhere. And the winner is a worthy champion.
