It's early morning in Châtillon in the Valle d'Aosta as you prepare yourself for a relentless 31Km/19 mile climb due north towards the Italian/Swiss border at Breuil-Cervina, at the foot of majestic Matterhorn. This climb has featured regularly in the Giro, last used in 2018; the stage was won by Mikel Nieve in his first year riding for Mitchelton-Scott.
