This series visits palaces of past kings, takes in postcard-worthy lakes and rolls through the stunning countryside of the region.
The spectacular landscape attracted world-famous painters like Kandinsky, and the region is famous for being the home of Expressionist painting.
Part 1 - Visit the King of Bavaria ("Kini") Franz-Ludwing II. An easy ride from Bad Kohlgrub and through Oberammergau (famous for its "Passion Plays"), along bike paths and local roads until we finally arrive at "Schloss Linderhof". Linderhof Palace, the eventual result of a long period of building and rebuilding, is the only large palace King Ludwig II lived to see completed. The Palace and its famous garden can be visited.

Starting in Murnau, we cycle on the gravel path with the Alps in view and then take a short ride through the woods.

On smaller roads and cycle paths we finally cross the invisible border to Germany and climb the steep "Falkenstein" with a last awesome view into the Alps.
