Passo Nota lies on the border between Trentino and Lombardy. It is an area rich in meadows and forests, between the mountains of Upper Garda and Tremalzo. On the hillssurrounding the mountain hut there are Italian trenches from the First World War and a small military cemetery where the war dead rest. You then cross the wide opening Bonotal valley, in which corn fields are piled up on both sides. The route continues steeply downhill via Voltino to Limone sul Garda, until you finally reach the famous Ciclovia del Garda cycle path, which is spectacularly fixed to the steep bank about 50m directly above the lake.

10. The Village in the Sky (FRANCE)

This easy ride offers you a slice of Provence on a summer afternoon. Starting from Aups you slowly climb in the middle of truffle oaks, pine trees and vineyards. You will reach Tourtour, one of the most beautiful « village de France ». Perched on top of a hill 635 metres above sea level, it received the name of Village in the Sky, mostly for the exceptional panoramic view from the Maures mountains to the Mont Ventoux, including the Sainte Victoire and the Bessillons. The road is very quiet and you can realise why the panorama inspired Paul Cézanne and Jean Giono.

11. Port de Balès from Bagnères-de-Luchon (FRANCE)

Port de Balès is a pass and as such it can be climbed from two sides, this one comes from the Bagnères-de-Luchon / SE side. Fulgaz has the version from the NE already (Thanks MH!). It began featuring in the Tour (and once in the Vuelta) when this side was finally paved for the last 6k. Port de Balès is a climb in 3 parts: part 1 is a staunch intro with 2k of steep straight sections, part 2 is easier, routing along 3 small mountain towns, part 3 above Bourg D’Oueil is isolated, populated with grazing animals, and regularly above 7%. The entire climb is quite open with great views of the neighbouring mountains.

16. La Gomera (SPAIN)

The tour starts in the port city of San Sebastián on the island of La Gomera.

La Gomera is one of the Spanish Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. With an area of 370.03 km², it is the third smallest of the eight main islands of the archipelago. It belongs to the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. La Gomera is the third least populated of the eight main Canary Islands with 22,426 inhabitants.

We will cover 15.6 km on this climb. The average gradient is 6.2% at an elevation of 938m. We will be able to admire the beauty of this island all the way to the top, and there is no shortage of beautiful views stretching all the way to Tenerife.

Starting in Garachico on the busy tourist stage with a nice view of the ocean, we follow the main road to Buenavista del Norte.
Once we pass Buenvista del Norte, we soon enter the small road to the lighthouse. The road is closed for regular traffic so we can enjoy the breathtaking scenery.
Some climbing up to the very dark tunnel before the long and fast descent towards the lighthouse starts.

The lighthouse is closed for public so we finish the ride with a majestic view of Los Gigantes.

18. San Agustin to Carrizal (SPAIN)

Agustin to Carrizal, this is an untypical ride in Gran Canaria – because normally one would not start in this direction due to heavy wind against you on 95% of all days. But I was lucky to find one the rare days without wind. It is an easy ride with only 180m of climbing which is very untypical too.

Then you can enjoy the 12Kms descent back to your starting point.

20. Col de la Rabassa (SPAIN)

Welcome to Andorra! Col de la Rabassa is a long climb (18k!) that sits just across the main road from Col de la Gallina (you can see Gallina frequently on your right). Though Rabassa can be climbed from 2 directions (before joining together for the final 6K spur to the top), it has only been climbed this direction in the Vuelta. It was used in 2018 when Simon Yates won the overall and Pinot won this stage. Two things are true of most Andorra climbs: there are lots of pros out training (2 pairs passed us) and they start out steep from the main road and ease towards the finish (very true of Rabassa!)

21. El Ter (SPAIN)

Welcome to the final stage of the 2025 FulGaz Grand Tour! This is a favourite training ride of professional gravel racer Nathans Hass. The profile is mostly rolling with a few pinches to keep you on your toes. Starting and finishing in the village of Sant Julia de Ramis, you’ll roll through stunning countryside and take in the sights of the region. Enjoy!
