The Chilterns Cycleway is a 170 mile/275 Km circular cycle route through the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, taking in the best of the Chilterns scenery. It is signposted for both clockwise and anti-clockwise travel. It passes through Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, taking in some of the best landscapes in these counties and is peppered with many short, sharp climbs typical of the Chilterns, especially in the southwestern half. I have cycled it clockwise, in approximate 16 mile/25 Km sections. Section 1 starts at the Bat and Ball pub in Holmer Green, passes through West Wycombe where some of Bridget Jones's Baby was filmed, and finishes at the Yew Tree pub in Frieth.
