This week, we’re chatting with a different contributor of sorts, but still a very important one in the FulGaz community, Gavin Williams.
Gavin is the founder and custodian of the What’s on FulGaz website, which aggregates ride ratings and lists the entire FulGaz ride library making it easier for people to find and enjoy rides on FulGaz.
Hailing from Cornwall, in the UK. Gav is a 51 year old software developer and a guru behind the scenes of all things WOFG.
Here’s a little bit about the man behind the code.
Favourite FulGaz ride & why?
Any of the Mt Teide rides on Tenerife, I can almost smell the citrus and pine, and the martian landscape at the top is jaw dropping.
Favourite cycling memory?
Having a mid-life crisis in my 40s and cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End for charity. And not a single puncture!
Any other random facts you’d like to add?
My first bike was a Raleigh Grifter nicknamed the ball breaker. It felt like it weighed about 10 tons, and had 3 gears on a grip shifter which always used to slip at the most inopportune moment when I was riding out the saddle – hence the nickname.
Dream bike or favourite bike?
A Canyon Aeroad would do nicely thank you.
