Looking for your next European cycling holiday?

Explore the lush green valley and hills of Valsesia on FulGaz.

While it’s an area renowned for its winter sports, riding here offers a stunning alternative for those looking for incredible views but without the lung-busting climbs of other regions.

While it’s not an area with major mountain passes, it offers many possibilities for bike, e-bike or MTB in a region that is a hidden gem of Italy. This valley is a little bit of the beaten path and not overcrowded with throngs of tourists so it makes for the perfect holiday destination.

There’s also plenty to see and do off the bike, with the region including canoeing, hydrospeeding, fishing and of course the food and wine here are always a winner.

You can find all these routes in FulGaz by searching “Valsesia” in the app.

SCOPELLO TO ALAGNA VALSESIA

The climb between Scopello and Alagna Valsesia is one of the classics of Valsesia. Toward the end of the valley floor trail, which climbs steadily with a gradient of about 4%, there is a breathtaking view of the southeast face of Monte Rosa, which at 4634 meters is the second-highest mountain in Europe. On a clear day, it's possible to see the dark outline of the Regina Margherita Hut (4554 meters, the highest hut in Europe) touching the sky.
