This week, Maltese National Champion Aidan Buttigieg shows us a few of the places he’s been racing and riding bikes over the last few months in Southern Europe.
You’ll visit Malta, Cyprus and Italy, experiencing turquoise waters, the warm sun and of course the dramatic landscapes of the region.

SAN MARTIN LOOP
This course is one of the most popular courses used for racing on Malta. The San Martin Loop was used in “Tour Ta’ Malta” as well as apart of their National Road Series. Not to any suprise, there are many potholes and bad sections of roads to dodge, but otherwise enjoy the true scenes of Malta!

The Salini Coast road is a very commonly used stretch of road used by cyclists on the daily. Made safer with a purpose-built bike lane, this ride goes out towards Pembroke before turning back towards the Salini Resort. A great ride for TT efforts!

Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, Aidan works with the FulGaz team and races bikes at the top level, having represented Malta at the Commonwealth Games and World Championships.
In 2023, he was crowned Maltese National Champion on the road and Individual Time Trial.
