Johnny Stausholm’s Norway Part 2
Returning FulGaz contributor, Johnny Stausholm has been busy capturing some STUNNING rides from his native homeland of Norway.
In part two of Johnny’s rides you’ll be greeted with quiet Norwegian roads, country towns, rolling hills and some breathtaking views as you pedal along.
Our recommendation from the collection this week is Fidjeland to Tonstad featuring some stunning views of the region’s trademark mountains and cliffs.

FIDJELAND TO TONSTAD
The route starts from the cabin area at Fidjeland Høyfjellhotell. From the roundabout at Sinnes, approximately10 km from the start, and all the way to Tonstad, we cycle on part of the trail to the start of the 2nd stage of the professional cycling race Tour of Norway 2021. The route goes via Sinnes and straight down to Tonstad through wonderful beautiful surroundings between high mountains and running water from mountains and rivers. Many cyclists cycle from a long way to Tonstad to have a break and a cup of coffee and some tasty bread. The trip is mainly a descent from start to finish, so it's important to keep your eyes open if you're going to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

The route offers both flat sections and sections with long gentle and partly steep climbs. The whole trip takes place in beautiful surroundings and goes from Aalgaard , Sviland, Seldalsbakken, Oltedal and back to Aalgaard.

This is a short training route used by many local cyclists, both active and exercisers. The ride is quite hilly and stretches through beautiful surroundings, where on the way down from the mountain towards Undheim you get a fantastic view out over the North Sea and the beautiful flat Jæren, which is Norway's largest agricultural area.

The route starts from Tonstad and ends at Sirdal Høyfjellhotell in Fidjeland witch also was the final on Stage 2 of the professional cycling race, Tour of Norway 2021. The stretch from the roundabout to Fidjeland Høyfjellshotell was in 2021 the end of stage 2 of Tour of Norway. The track has 2 segments (suggestions) of 1,9 km and 10,3 km respectively. The first segment is short with a relatively steep climb, while the last segment is flat with a steep climb for the last few hundred metres
