Gran Canaria with HPO

Gran Canaria is THE place to ride a bike when the mercury drops in Europe.

Part of the Canary Islands, Gran Canaria’s climate is reliably beautiful year-round (it’s known as the island of the “Eternal Spring”) and is a popular destination for cycling brands to head to for photo shoots, as they can’t risk lost days of shooting due to inclement weather.

Whilst FulGaz can’t buy you a plane ticket to the stunning island, we can transport you there with Hans Peter Obwaller’s collection. For added realism, we recommend pairing this ride with an Isla Verde beer.

You can find these rides under NEW in FulGaz or by searching “Obwaller”.

EL PAJAR TO PRESA DE LAS NIñAS

The ride starts with 12k easy into the Espino Valley before the well known climb up to Soria starts. Usually riders then take the tarmac road to Presa De Las Niñas - but we are doing it the tough way - an old trail on really very bad gravel ... but funny and very cool if you are able to do it. IRL with roadbike slick tyres it almost was a "mission impossible”. The ride ends at the Presa De Las Niñas.

TAURITO TO ESPINO TO PAJAR

A scenic ride alongside the coast from west to east. It is rather an easy ride (the long climb is 2-3%) but well worth to do it. Right before you reach Playa de Pajar you do an extra part into the valley of Espino. The most favorite cycling road in Gran Canaria because its an easy one which can be done by everyone. The ride ends with a view on the Atlantic Ocean.
