Gran Canaria, Austria and Italy with HPO!

This week, Hans Peter Obwaller brings you another stunning collection of routes from Gran Canaria, Austria and Italy.

Part of the Canary Islands, Gran Canaria’s climate is reliably beautiful year-round (it’s known as the island of the “Eternal Spring”) and is a popular destination for cycling brands to head to for photo shoots, as they can’t risk lost days of shooting due to inclement weather.

The routes from Italy and Austria are also stunning additions to the FulGaz library. A stand out this week is Seebenstien loop and Rosalia, where you’re guided by former Austrian ITT champion, Cecilia.

For added realism, we recommend pairing the Gran Canaria rides with an Isla Verde beer, the Austrian routes with good Märzen and the Italian routes with a chilly Birra Menabrea.

You can find these rides under NEW in FulGaz or by searching “Obwaller”.

VENEGUERA TO FREEMOTION A GUIN

Veneguera to Freemotion Arguineguin starting in the little village of Veneguera in the western part of the island, you will do a bit of climbing followed by a short downhill. Then the very popular climb to the "Tauropass". BUT then not the usual route to Ayacata - No we turn right and go downhill on a steep narrow road to Soria where we reach better tarmac and can do a lovely downhill. The ride ends in the city of Arguineguin in front of the Freemotion Bikecenter - time for a break and a Cafe Cortado.

ARTENARA TO VALSEQUILLO

Artenara to Valsequillo once again starting in the middle of the island - Artenara - IRL you first would have to do about 3h and 2000m of climbing to reach our starting point - that´s an advantage in FulGaz. So you can do the really beautiful rides which 90% of the cyclist can´t do when cycling IRL in Gran Canaria. This one is just beautiful and beautiful and beautiful.
