Missed the Noosa Classic this year?
Thanks to our friends at Bicycling Australia, you can experience the stunning Queensland hinterland of the Noosa Classic.
You can either ride the 120km Noosa Challenge Classic all in a single session, or we’ve broken it up into three bite-sized stages to test yourself on.
The route captures the essence of the Noosa Hinterland and will take you on a journey through the hills, historic towns, and breathtaking scenery.
If you’re preparing for the 2024 event, this is THE best way to train on the key climbs throughout the day and be fully prepared for the road ahead.
This is a free event for all users, the routes are available to ride from 1 July – 31 August only on FulGaz.
1. NOOSA CLASSIC - NOOSAVILLE TO RIDGEWOOD
Starting on the outskirts of Noosa at just above sea level, you’ll ride south along Sunrise Road before heading north to tackle the undulating hills around Cooroy.
While there is a bit of climbing in this route, it’s broken up with some flat sections to recover on. Make sure to keep an eye out for the traditional “Queenslander” style homes nestled just off the road.More Info
2. NOOSA CLASSIC - CARTER'S RIDGE TO KIMMOND CREEK
The middle section of the Noosa Classic gran fondo, it will be hard to settle into a rhythm as this route is full of rollers and a few sharp uphill climbs.
You’ll ride through classic Aussie country roads and off in the distance you’ll glimpse Mount Cooroora, don’t worry though, you won’t be riding up this one today.More Info
3. NOOSA CLASSIC - KIMMOND CREEK TO TEWANTIN
The final section of the Noosa classic challenge on FulGaz, a gentle uphill awaits as you climb south along Cootharaba road.

1. Download FulGaz and set up a free account.
Downloading the trial gives you full access to FulGaz with no restrictions on content, or how often or how far you ride. If you’re returning to FulGaz for another go, send us a support ticket and we’ll hook you up with another trial on the house.
2. Connect your devices
When you load up FulGaz and hit Get Started, you’ll be greeted with a pairing screen. Here your smart bike/trainer/speed sensor will be picked up and listed. Select the devices you’d like to connect and click Let’s Ride.
Pro Tip If you can’t see your devices when trying to connect, they are most likely paired with another app (RGT, Rouvy, Zwift). You will need to deselect your trainer from that app’s pairing screen, quit that app, and restart FulGaz.
3. Set your preferences, weight and slope scaling
Click the settings icon to take a moment to set your display preference (metric or imperial). For the most realistic experience, enter your weight and bike weight. There are many other settings here also; it’s best to get a feel for riding FulGaz first before adjusting these. Start at around 60% uphill to get the feel. You can adjust this in ride also.
For the event itself, you won’t be able to adjust your bike weight. Only rider weight so please keep that in mind.
Pro Tip If you find the hills too hard, you can adjust the Slope Scaling, this is essentially the “trainer difficulty”. Adjusting this won’t make you faster, but it will make hills easier!
4. Download a video and ride
We always suggest downloading the video ahead of time. For any event, you we suggest downloading the video. Before the event, test your set up with something from the Easy collection. These rides will give you a good “feel” for how FulGaz looks and interacts with your trainer or smart bike.
5. Get event-ready
Before you start your event, make sure you turn up at the start line ready.
Here’s a quick checklist
- Download the ride ahead of time

FulGaz works on Apple TV, MacOS or an iPhone or iPad as well as Windows and Android devices. To get started you will need to download the app onto your respective device. For an amazing viewing (and riding) experience we highly recommend using an Apple TV connected to your lounge room TV or monitor.
Please note rides in ‘event mode’ will force you to download the ride prior to starting. This ensures an uninterrupted riding experience so make sure you download each stage well ahead of time to avoid delays.
By default, FulGaz simulates outdoor gradients accurately. Although it will vary slightly between different trainers and smart bikes, a 10% climb in FulGaz will feel like a 10% climb outdoors!
You can adjust this feel by changing your Slope Scaling under settings.MORE INFO
