With the 2020 edition of the ride postponed, Alpine Cycling Club and FulGaz are excited to unveil the 2020 Bright Brewery Tour of Bright on FulGaz from 30 Nov – 13 December.

The free event will take across three stages and three iconic locations from the region including, Mt Buffalo, Tawonga Gap, and Buckland Valley.

The focus of the event is to give people a real taste of the region and show them some of the stunning riding on offer around Bright.

Alpine Cycling Club president, Andrew Geekie, was excited by the opportunity.

Mike Clucas, founder and CEO of FulGaz was equally excited by the opportunity, “Having raced the Tour of Bright in real life, with the region always warmly welcoming riders, being able to be able to bring the event to life on FulGaz is a real privilege. I’d like to thank the Alpine Cycling Club for their hard work behind the scenes.”

Riders will be able to race all three stages during the two-week window 30 November – 13 December. There will be general classification and individual stage leaderboards so you can see how you stack up.

This is a free event for all FulGaz subscribers and can be raced on a trial subscription.

Stage 1 Buckland - Valley Time Trial

The opening stage is a race against the clock through Buckland Valley. A 17km/10.5mile course with some undulations and short climbs with 160m/524ft of climbing to keep the legs pumping.

Stage 2 - Tawonga Gap

There are two routes to the Gap; this is the steeper, shorter climb from Mount Beauty. The second stage of the Tour is the Gaps Loop and brings the race to the Kiewa Valley and up the challenging climb up of Tawonga Gap.
The climb is a steady and consistent climb of around 5%, with a few steep hairpins in the second half.

Stage 3 - Mt Buffalo

The third and final stage is the toughest one and sure to test the legs. Mount Buffalo has a relentless gradient of between 5% and 7% for the 19.18km/12.4mile distance.

There is an almost flat section at around 8km/4.9m, just before halfway, which gives you a break before the challenging final sections with several steep bends to negotiate. The route climbs a total of 1024 metres/3359 ft.
