FulGaz is excited to bring you a one-stage challenge ahead of this weekend’s Tour de Suisse!
You’ll ride on the actual roads that the peloton will race down on the 12 June, giving you a taste of the Tour.
The opening stage of the Tour is from Küsnacht to Küsnacht, which is a 45km/28mile circuit along the shores of Lake Zurich and back into town. The pros will do four laps, but for this challenge, you’ll only need to do one.
A few hills early will test the legs before a flat-out section to the finish line so make sure you’re warmed up if you’re trying to set a PB.
The Tour de Suisse 2022 will not start with a prologue as usual. The first stage, to be contested as a circuit, is a real challenge! The course towards Greifensee, the Zurich Oberland, and over the Pfannenstil back to Küsnacht ZH will be completed four times and includes a total of over 2,800 metres of altitude. General Classification riders need to be on their toes from day one. If the race is tough, we expect a group of 10-20 riders to fight for the day’s victory at the end. While it may not be possible to win the Tour here, it can definitely be lost!More Info
A wonderful sunny day ride from Küsnacht up to Zumikon, continuing along the Golf & Country Club Zürich to Ebmatingen. We're heading further on, over open fields to Wetzwil and to the ride's summit at Pfannenstiel. Then a long, steep descent to Meilen on the banks of the Lake of Zürich at 30Km. It's flat out now alongside the lake to Zurich, where we meet cycle path Route 66 to finish the tour at our departure point in Küsnacht. Side note: If you manage to finish the circuit in less than an hour, we suggest you adjust your trainer settings or, even better, apply for a pro contract.More Info
