Côte de Lofthouse (Trapping Hill) was used twice in the 207 Tour de Yorkshire, once in the morning on day 2 of the women's race and later in the afternoon by the men. It re-appeared in the women's road race in the UCI World Championships in 2019, the scene of Lizzie Deignan's attempted breakaway.
It’s a relentless, brutal ascent starting in Lofthouse, which reaches 20% at a left hand bend before easing off for the final 2Km to the cattle grid at the summit.
