Fording River is located approximately 29 kilometres northeast of the community of Elkford, in southeastern British Columbia.
This is only one of the coal mines in the Elk Valley that is for used steelmaking and the second largest in the world, the largest one being in Australia.
The Fording River Mine Rd displays 26 km of great riding that East Kootenay has to offer and the economic engine of this valley.
