Vesuvius is a feared and revered climb. It goes from the Shenandoah Valley in the West to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is a winding climb with many steep sections. Enjoy an easy two kilometre intro to the climb because the climb is a brute for the five kilometres to the parkway. After the climb, there's a 15 km loop with some descending and climbing returning to an overlook to revel in a perfect blue sky.
