On this ride, we go from the Mint and Ginger Coffee House, in Leicestershire, to Spokes Cafe, in Northamptonshire. In Tur Langton village, there is a water well named after King Charles I. “King Charles Well” is where he watered his horse after his army’s defeat at the Battle of Naseby during the 1645 First British Civil War. In Harringworth, near the very end of the ride, the Welland Viaduct comes into view. The Viaduct is about a kilometre long with 82 arches. It is the longest masonry viaduct in the United Kingdom.
