A late-summer counter-clockwise loop around a popular forest preserve on a crushed limestone trail that surrounds Argonne National Laboratory. The laboratory carries out science and engineering research laboratory for the United States Department of Energy. Although there is indeed a very small waterfall in this preserve, it is off the main trail, and wouldn’t have been too impressive due to drought conditions.
North eastern Illinois is very flat, but there are a few short hills on this trail.
