Maridalen is a popular location for cycling in Oslo since it has relatively little traffic. The route passed Maridalsvannet which is the main freshwater supply for Oslo city. The course is relatively flat and the road ends at Skar. From Skar it is a short and easy hike to Øyungen Lake which is an excellent stop for barbecues, swimming, and camping.
