The Côte de Lofthouse was the only significant climb on day 2 of the tour, used in the morning by the women’s race and again later in the afternoon by the men’s race. It’s a relentless, brutal ascent reaching nearly 25% at a left hand bend before easing off for the final half mile. Starting in Ramsgill in Nidderdale, climb out of Lofthouse, then descend to the Leighton reservoir before reaching Masham. Look out for the Tour de Yorkshire effigies on both sides of the road as you cycle through Healey.
