Start with a rolling 30 minute warm-up from Penrith, before tackling the 1st ascent of the Hartside Pass from the west. Followed by the 2nd ascent from the east, and then the final 3rd ascent from the south. The 3rd ascent from Melmerby was used as a summit finish in the 2015 Tour of Britian.
