Triathlete in focus: Alex Anasson

Alex runs a successful personal training business, works full time in an office and still manages to dedicate the hours and training to her number one passion, triathlon.

In the last decade her achievements include finishing three Ironman triathlons, eight half Ironman triathlons and a whopping 30 marathons!

After qualifying at Ironman Western Australia in December 2019, her target for 2020 was firmly set on competing at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, but like so many of us, her plans got derailed earlier this year and she now has her sights set on racing on the Big Island in October 2021

We caught up with the triathlete to find out what she likes about FulGaz in her own words.

When you’re balancing training for three sports with a busy personal and work life, finding ways to make life easier and fit it all in are paramount. So, one of the most essential parts of the triathlete’s tool kit is their indoor trainer. However, hours of pedaling staring at the wall aren’t exactly motivating or inspiring to me.

When coupled with missing the rolling terrain of the open road and the scenery that helps you pass the time, you’ve got a recipe for boredom that pretty much every triathlete I’ve met has experienced.

That’s where for me FulGaz changed the game. After trialing other indoor training platforms, I found it really is the closest thing to bringing the road inside.

Always easy to connect to my smart trainer(another plus for the time crunched athlete!) and with hundreds of beautifully filmed rides to choose from, getting bored on the trainer is now a thing of the past for me.

The real road feel is the closest you will get to the road and often you even forget you aren’t going anywhere!

Following structured workouts from compatible training software is easy too, with one click and push of a button, you can be riding from Como to Bellagio without compromising the need to do 5 x 5min TT efforts at 110% FTP!

The ability to train indoors and actually enjoy it, has really helped me to manage the swim, bike, run life and I feel that FulGaz has helped revolutionise the triathlete experience every week with new videos, new challenges and more adventures.
