A 1,999m mountain pass, connecting Alpe d'Huez with Mizoën and Le Freney-d'Oisans in the Romanche valley. This climb from the south averages 7.5% with steeper parts at 11.5% - 13.5% near to the the start and end. Last climbed on stage 18 in the 2013 Tour, from Alpe d'Huez in the west.
